The first thing you need to do is get away from that phone. Sitting there waiting for him to call is just making you all the more desperate. You have to go on with your life. Get with your girlfriends and go out for some fun. Take your mind off your ex for a while and you will begin to think with a clear head. If your boyfriend broke up with you, it was because of something that was not fulfilling his needs. To get your ex boyfriend back, you need to find out what it was and correct it.

That does not mean that you should call him and ask him. Any contact with him at this time could be disastrous. You will have to do some soul searching and find the answer yourself. Maybe you were a little too clingy and demanded that he spend every spare minute of his time with you. That is not good for either one of you. Everyone needs a little independence and if he felt too restricted, that could be why he ran.

While you are thinking about what you might have been doing to cause the split, Think of his shortcomings also, and be prepared to accept them and not find fault with him. If you want him to forgive and accept your faults, you need to do the same with your ex boyfriend. In any relationship there has to be a certain amount of give and take. When you both are able to accept and love each other for who you are and not what you wish they were, you will have a happy and long lasting relationship.

While you have been busy with all of these things, a month or so should have passed since the breakup. If it has been at least a month and you feel you are in control of your emotions. You should call your ex and apologize for your part in the split. This does not mean that you are going to shoulder all of the blame, or cry and beg forgiveness. Keep your composure and tell him you are sorry and end the conversation.

Next, you need to make yourself scarce for a while. Take vacation or visit out of town relatives. He will be trying to contact you, but you will be unavailable. This will make him wonder if you have run off with some other guy. When you get back, you will find a desperate ex boyfriend ready to talk things over. When you meet for the talk, let him do most of the talking. If he tells you some things you do not want to hear, you need to accept them and sincerely tell him you will do your best to correct them. Do not counter with his faults right now. This could cause another split. Both of you should vow to be considerate and patient and take it from there.

First of all you need to find the cause of the breakup. If there was constant bickering, it might not be wise to try to save the relationship. You might be better off to move on with your life and forget your ex. If you think that is impossible to do and he is the only man for you, then figure out what happened to make him upset enough to end things. Once you come up with an answer, you need to find a way to fix it. When you do get your ex back, you do not want the same thing to cause trouble again.

During the time you have been working on the cause of the breakup, your ex has had time to experience his life without you. He will come to the realization that he has not heard from you. The first thing you need to do is realize that you have not lost him for good. Breakups do not have to spell the end of love. Sometimes it is the foundation upon which you can build a stronger and more loving relationship than before. First things first. You need to know what caused the breakup and how to fix the problem that caused it. So think of anything you might have said or did that upset him recently or in the past few months. You might have thought he had gotten over it, but it could have been eating at him until he had to get away to think. When you have figured out an answer to this, think of what attracted him to you at the start. Now go look into the mirror and see how you have changed, not only outside but inside as well.

Think of the woman you were when he met and fell in love with you. How has your personality changed? Have you become less carefree and tend to take things more serious? Maybe that is a problem. He longs for the carefree happy woman he fell in love with. This can make a man want to look around again and find somebody new. You cannot take all of the blame because he has changed too. But since he broke up with you and you want your ex back, it will be up to you to change back close enough to the woman you were as possible.

While you have been doing all of this hard work, he has time to miss being with you. He has seen that life without you is not what he thought it would be and he is now willing to accept the fact that everyone changes. He has come to see that he is not perfect either and he wonders how you put up with him. This will lead him to call you and ask you to meet him for coffee. Imagine his surprise when he sees the woman he fell in love with. This will make him see the breakup was a mistake.

When he is being difficult, your best tactic is to ignore him. If you call him, send him emails or text messages, it will only swell his ego. He will think you are about to beg him to love you again. Imagine how his jaw will drop when you tell him you agree with the breakup. If you want to stun him some more, tell him you had been thinking about telling him you were unhappy with the relationship for some time. Wish him well and end the conversation. Don’t be surprised to find an ex boyfriend that is growing up quick on your doorstep, begging for your forgiveness.
