Your parents could also be of so much service to you during this time. They can call the guests – inform them of the situation without having to spill all the gory details. They could also take care of the church and explain the cancellation of the wedding.

Whatever material thing that needs taking care of, your parents and the other members of the entourage could handle.

2. Embrace the sadness.

Now, here’s something that you can do – acknowledge the devastation. Feel it. For quite a while, it would be painful for you to see wedding dresses and anything related to marriage. But this will not go on forever. So while the feeling is still so fresh, accept it. Cry, wallow in your misery. Get a new environment, sulk in your room. Whatever it is that would get the negative emotions out, do it. Your body can only be in that devastated state for quite a while. After that, you will see the sunshine.

3. Move on.

It’s not easy to move on. It is a process and it takes a while. But simply wallowing and relating wedding dresses to sadness will not a better person make. So compose yourself, stand up and smile. Sooner or later, you will find the person that’s meant for you. Sooner or later, you will understand why such a wedding never materialized. And that is because there’s someone else out there that could make you very happy… there is someone out there who can bring out the best in you.

Your first instinct when your boyfriend breaks up with you is to fight it. You love him and you do not want to lose him so it is only the natural thing to try to reason with him and when that fails, you begin crying and begging. If you feel strong enough, you can add to his confusion by gathering up all of his things that he has been keeping at your place and hurry him out the door.

After he has left will come the most difficult time. Telling him you agree with the breakup was hard, but now you must keep control of your emotions. Your instincts will tell you to go running after him and tell him you are sorry and you cannot live without him. If you want your ex back, you have to remain strong and have no contact with him at all. He feels as if you have rejected him and this is a hard pill for him to swallow. Most men cannot stand rejection or the loss of something they feel is theirs. By agreeing with the breakup, you have made him feel both rejection and loss.

By ignoring him and appearing to be going on with your life, you are making him wonder if you have someone else and pushed him into breaking up with you to get rid of him. Once he begins thinking this way, he will have to find out for himself and he will contact you. This will be another crucial time. Do not appear too anxious, but do not discourage him either. You know his emotional hot buttons, so just use the same tactic that got him the first time.
